Guide

How to add a pop-up to Shopify

The code goes into your theme layout once and then works on every page of your store.

  1. 1

    Create a pop-up in Swoopkit

Sign up, create a Banner widget, pick a layout, add text, a photo and a button or a lead form, and choose when it appears: after a delay, on scroll or on exit intent.

  2. 2

    Copy your site code

In your Swoopkit dashboard, copy the line of code with your site key. It's the same line for all widgets.

    <script src="https://swoopkit.app/loader.js" data-site="YOUR_SITE_KEY" async></script>
  3. 3

    Open the theme code

In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes, click “…” next to your current theme and choose Edit code.

  4. 4

    Paste before </body>

In the Layout folder open theme.liquid, find the closing </body> tag, paste the line right before it and click Save.

If you switch to a different theme later, add the code to its theme.liquid as well.

Placement

Four pop-up layouts for Shopify

  1. 1

    Centered pop-up

The classic pop-up: noticed instantly, great for your main offer or lead capture.

  2. 2

    Corner card

Doesn't cover the site: the offer slides in from the side without blocking the page.

  3. 3

    Mini banner

A compact card with a photo and a button. A gentle reminder of your offer.

  4. 4

    Bottom bar

A slim full-width bar: for announcements, shipping info or sale deadlines.

Examples

Who it's for

  • Free shipping threshold

Remind shoppers how much is left to free shipping.

FAQ

Questions about the pop-up banner on Shopify

How do I add a pop-up to Shopify?

Create the widget in Swoopkit, copy one line of code from your dashboard and add it to Shopify: open the theme code, then paste before </body>. You do it once.

When does the pop-up appear?

However you set it: after a number of seconds, after scrolling a percentage of the page or when the visitor is about to leave.

Won't the pop-up annoy visitors?

You control the frequency: every visit, once per session or once every few days. A corner card or a bottom bar doesn't cover the page at all.

Can I collect leads on my Shopify site?

Yes. Add a form with the fields you need: name, phone, email, message. Leads go straight to your inbox and your dashboard.

How much does it cost?

The first 3 months are free, no credit card required. After that, $7 a month or $15 for 3 months, and the plan includes all widgets: stories, pop-up banner and contact button.
