Guide

How to add a pop-up to WordPress

The easiest way is the free WPCode plugin. It keeps the code separate from your theme, so it won't disappear when you update or switch themes. You need admin access to your site.

  1. 1

    Create a pop-up in Swoopkit

Sign up, create a Banner widget, pick a layout, add text, a photo and a button or a lead form, and choose when it appears: after a delay, on scroll or on exit intent.

  2. 2

    Copy your site code

In your Swoopkit dashboard, copy the line of code with your site key. It's the same line for all widgets.

    <script src="https://swoopkit.app/loader.js" data-site="YOUR_SITE_KEY" async></script>
  3. 3

    Install WPCode

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New, search for “WPCode – Insert Headers and Footers”, then install and activate it.

  4. 4

    Paste the code into Header

Open Code Snippets → Header & Footer, paste the line into the Header box and click Save Changes.

  5. 5

    Clear the cache

If you use a caching plugin, clear its cache so the code reaches every page.

Placement

Four pop-up layouts for WordPress

  1. 1

    Centered pop-up

The classic pop-up: noticed instantly, great for your main offer or lead capture.

  2. 2

    Corner card

Doesn't cover the site: the offer slides in from the side without blocking the page.

  3. 3

    Mini banner

A compact card with a photo and a button. A gentle reminder of your offer.

  4. 4

    Bottom bar

A slim full-width bar: for announcements, shipping info or sale deadlines.

FAQ

Questions about the pop-up banner on WordPress

How do I add a pop-up to WordPress?

Create the widget in Swoopkit, copy one line of code from your dashboard and add it to WordPress: install wpcode, then paste the code into header, then clear the cache. You do it once.

Do I need a paid WordPress plan?

You need admin access to your site.

When does the pop-up appear?

However you set it: after a number of seconds, after scrolling a percentage of the page or when the visitor is about to leave.

Won't the pop-up annoy visitors?

You control the frequency: every visit, once per session or once every few days. A corner card or a bottom bar doesn't cover the page at all.

Can I collect leads on my WordPress site?

Yes. Add a form with the fields you need: name, phone, email, message. Leads go straight to your inbox and your dashboard.

How much does it cost?

The first 3 months are free, no credit card required. After that, $7 a month or $15 for 3 months, and the plan includes all widgets: stories, pop-up banner and contact button.
